TAPPING EQUIPMENT

ALH System-One & System-Three Tapping Machines are designed to prevent the escape of gas (Control-Gas) at all stages of any drilling, tapping or other maintenance operation that requires drilling a hole in a live gas main.

Modern, all aluminum, light weight mains entry systems. The Control-Gas technology was built into the design at the concept stage in order to comply with all current industry safety standards worldwide.

Any maintenance operation previously carried out under traditional "open-hole" conditions can now be done in complete safety under Control-Gas conditions.

Using these machines will not significantly increase the time taken to complete the work, when compared to "open-hole", but the whole operation is much safer for the operator and the environment.

ALH System-One & System-Three Tapping Machines are now in use in major US Gas Utilities.

They are designed for use at gas pressures up to 60 psig. The equipment is compact and light, the procedures simple and the economics viable.

System-One will operate on all sizes of cast iron and steel mains and cuts and taps up to 2½" NPT holes for a side range of maintenance operations (click on individual web pages above for more information).

System-Three is a next generation version that cuts and taps 3", 4" and 5" NPT holes. (click on individual web pages above for more information).
