Safe-T-Stopper® - Field Operation Example

The tool mounts above the service tee branch. A 1/4" turn ball valve allows for pressure containment and release as well as providing the attachment for the cap/plug removal tool and the expandable plug setting tool.

Once the expandable plug has been set in place, the tee connection can be cut off and completion plug installed, or the service tee connection can be returned to service by removing the expandable plug and reinstalling the threaded connection cap or plug.

All tool attachments are hand installed with no need for tools. Only one small hand wrench is required.

Shown below is just one of the Safe-T-Stopper capabilities, a welded open gut pipe type service tee with a malleable cap is removed and abandoned.

Call PLCS, Inc. to discuss all of the tool capabilities that are specific to the gas distribution system.

Field Operation Example The malleable cap is removed using the Safe-T-Stopper cap removal tool.

Once the cap is removed, an expansion stopper is installed into the throat of the tee to stop the flow of gas by using the Safe-T-Stopper expansion plug setting tool.

The service branch can now be easily renewed or abandoned.
