LP Foambag offers a fast, efficient method of shutting down low
pressure distribution mains or services for a wide range of maintenance
applications including leakage control and pipe abandonment projects.
Unlike any other foam product this 2 part resin system was designed
exclusively for use in the natural gas industry. It is deployed
inside of a semi-porous fabric bag and remains in close proximity
to the injection point.
Once
the foam swells to fill the foambag, a limited amount oozes out
through the special semi-porous surfaces to roll any fluids, including
water, out of the way. It then combines with any liquid or loose
debris and bonds to the pipe walls.
The
shutdown bag is deployed through an entry hole that is less than one quarter
of the diameter of the main, which
in the case of cast iron prevents the requirement to use any full
encirclement fittings for completion.
The bag controlls the position of the foam so that it is forced
rapidly across the main for a full gas shutoff in a few minutes.
After waiting 15 minutes the main can be cut and capped on the downstream
side of the foam.
- LP
Foambag is supplied as a complete kit including the 2-part prepackaged
foam system.
- The
system facilitates mains shutdowns when used in combination with
PLCS Flowstop or Sensor Bags.
- LP
Foambag provides sectioning for dead insertion during upgrade
projects.
- LP
Foambag provides sectioning during Live Mains Insertion projects
- Close
tolerance branch main abandonment shutdowns
- Foams
offer control of PCBs in abandoned mains.
